Pastor Ron

Pastor Ron Kearns has been married to Marci Kearns since 1962 . He has a son, Troy Kearns, and a daughter, Traci Nelson, along with 5 grand children, Fuji, Tyler, Spencer, Kelsi, and Joshie and his dogs Frisbee and Max. He is a graduate of Pasadena Nazarene College, class of '71, and has been in Pastoral ministry since 1968.

I remember that day in 9th grade when I said enough! No more worrying about being popular, having a girl friend, and all the other stressful teenage stuff. I said yes to God being my focus and priority, and never looked back. My own youth pastor was so key in my learning to love God. His name was Swede Otten. Not your typical “youth Pastor” though. He was 60 years old. Swede wasn’t flashy or in style, but he deeply loved me and all the other teens with unconditional love. He would always speak truth and had this amazing tough love for us. His impact on my life was eternal. I want to be just like Swede, because he was a real Christian in his actions and words. Well here I am today, married, 5 kids of my own (Ages 21,19,17,15 and 10) and loving being a youth pastor. The opportunity to give my time and life to help others meet God and love him deeply, is a privilege I cherish every day.
